Open every day from 8.00 - 12.00 a.m., and 5.00 - 10.00 p.m. (closed during dinner 7.30 - 8.30 p.m.).
Our reception staff are always on hand if you need any advice regarding local activities, excursions and exhibitions. For an overview of different hiking trails in Chamonix and its surroundings have a look at our map of trails.
Practical facilities: 2 internet devices, 1 vending machine (sweeties & soft drinks), 1 phone box, 1 washing machine + 1 dryer.
Baggage room with lockers, that can be used to store skis, or bikes overnight
PLEASE NOTE: the Hostel is closed during October and November, and for two weeks in May. |

In the morning a French breakfast buffet is served, and in the evening you can enjoy a three course meal with the other guests.
Remember the Youth Hostel is not a cheap hotel but an association. So we ask our guests to help out a little e.g. by clearing and wiping their table after a meal. We offer all you could ever need to feel comfortable and the opportunity to enjoy the company of new friends. You may have the chance to try some local specialities and traditional French meals - such as tartiflette, fondue savoyarde, diots or the famous polenta - with seasonal desserts like "alps or vosgs style" blueberry tart.

The hostel pub (downstairs) is open every day from 5/6 p.m. and is the ideal place to have a drink with your new friends. A full range of snacks is also available. There are many fun games such as pool and table foot ball to play and a TV room. |

The Youth Hostel provides the unique opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Whether you want to go for a trip out and about, have a drink or even dance in the bar you won't have any problem finding someone to accompany you. |

With the fire crackling and a cosy ambience there is no better place to relax than by our fireplace. The atmosphere is ideal to strike up conversation with people from many nations and even playing a bit of guitar. |

Our hostel ski shop provides:
300 pairs of shoes and boots
280 pairs of sports skis, whether for professionals or beginners, in high or more sturdy quality
60 snowboards
32 pairs of snowblades
12 pairs of snowshoes (raquettes)
A skiman will be close by to offer any advice you need in order to choose appropriate equipment for your needs. |
